Lilith is a figure from Jewish mythology, known as Adam's first wife, who refused to be subservient to him and subsequently fled the Garden of Eden. She has evolved from a Mesopotamian demon into an icon of emancipation, interpreted in various ways in popular culture, often as a seductive night figure or as a symbol of female self-determination. Her origins lie in Sumerian demons (lilitu), associated with wind and night, who threatened women and children, hence the use of amulets for protection. In modern times, she has become a feminist icon and appears in comics, films, and television series, where she is often portrayed as a combative yet tragic figure.
