This painting is inspired by the movie "The Crow", based on the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr.
Guided by a crow, with whom he shares a telepathic connection, the main character is resurrected from the dead to seek vengeance. But the painting is about transformation, and it deals with our daemons.
I continued the blue and red spots, which turned into a series.
As a huge fan of Brandon Lee, I watched the movie at the cinema when I was 16, and a friend of mine got me in, as the age restriction was 18. I was so nervous sitting in this chair, watching the very last movie of Brandon, who was accidentally killed while making the movie.
There's so much myth about it. Years after the release, people recognized the symbolic power of this movie. For example, Brandon's performance inspired Heath Ledger for his famous role as the Joker.
I still listen to the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack featuring artists like The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots, and Pantera, which accompanied me when I made this painting.
