DESCRIPTION

In modern art, depictions of a priest, preacher, cleric, clergyman, bishop, minister, deacon, pastor, or reverend address themes such as identity, gender roles, and the role of men in society.

In the pop-cultural horror genre, the theme of the "priest" is a recurring motif, particularly in relation to the connection between the Christian world and the underworld, the occult, conjuring, exorcism, the paranormal, or even evil.

Famous examples in film include "The Exorcist," "Poltergeist," and "The Omen." Other examples include films like "Rosemary's Baby" and series such as "Devil in Ohio" and "Anthracite."

This painting was inspired by Depeche Mode`s BLACK CELEBRATION. I asked myself: How does such a celebration look like?

And I even created this red circle pentagram, which doesn`t exist like this; it`s pure fantasy.
